Hi My name is Sharon-Ann Riley and I was a lecturer in the culinary arts at Blackpool and the fylde college for many years as well as teaching cake decorating classes on a part time basis at St Bedes in Lytham and Hodgeson High School (Poulton) through Myerscough college ,Lancashire.
With over twenty years experience and expertise in my chosen field, I am passionate about my craft.
My qualifications include a Professional Certificate of Education (Cert Ed), NVQ 3's in Confectionary and Patisserie, NCFE (Advanced) in Creative Craft- Cake Decoration, OCR Level 3 in Assesing candidates, NVQ 3 Food Preperation and Cooking- Kitchen and Larder, BTEC Diploma in Art and Design and GCE A levels in Fine Art and Graphic design .
I taught all levels of Confectionary and patisserie from Pre-NVQ to HND as well as teaching masterclasses in chocolate and pastry work I am also a member of the Association of Bakery Students and Trainees (ABST) as well as the IFL ( institute for learning)
In the past I have made celebration cakes for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John, St Ivel, The trainer of Nashwan ( winner of the Derby), Blackpool airport, Starlight Stage School and many more.
I am a triple gold medal winner for live marzipan modelling, a novelty cake (2012) and a decorated gateaux, triple Silver medal winner- British sugar Class and hold two bronze medals for novelty cakes and the Slattery's cup- chocolate wedding cake.
