85g plain flour
2 vegetable or chicken stock cubes
1ltr boiling water
Salt and black pepper to taste
2-4 tablespoons of cream, depending on how you like it

Sprinkle the flour over and give it a really good stir then add 1/4 of the water, stirring really well to ensure there are no lumps of flour. Add the remainder of the water with the stick cubes. Bring to the boil then turn the heat down to a simmer and simmer for 15 minutes, check the seasoning and add the cream.
