3-2-1 shortbread

My gorgeous grandson and granddaughter love making these simple cookies with their mummy, bake up a batch and make memories with your little ones ❤️❤️❤️

300g plain flour

200g butter or block margarine

100g sugar - granulated or caster

1 teaspoon vanilla essence  - you can change the vanilla for orange or lemon zest, cinnamon or ground cardamom ❤️

good pinch salt 

preheat the oven to 160c (fan oven) 180c for a regular oven and line a tray with baking paper.

cream the butter or margarine together with the salt, sugar and vanilla essence until soft. Add in the flour and mix to form a stiff dough 

Roll the dough out on a lightly floured work surface to 1/2cm thick and cut out in whatever shape you like... have fun! 

Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 8+ minutes ( it will depend on the size of your cookie) the cookies should be golden brown at the edges. They will crisp up on cooling.
